Meet the team

Our team is based around Aotearoa, with a head office in Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland. Below, you can get to know the folks heading up the various parts of our work.

Fiona Ironside

CEO
She/her

I’m privileged to have experienced both out-of-home care and being a foster carer. I’m a proud mum, foster mum and grandma in our extended and blended whānau. I love travelling and going to various cooking schools. My favourite was in Vejer de la Frontera in Spain where I also spent eight days walking the Camino Trail.

Operations and Practice Manager Northern

he/him

I joined Key Assets in 2016 to support carers in the Waikato region. Since that time, I’ve developed the supports we provide to carers and mokopuna so that we are now able to extend support to whānau carers.

Monika Welzenbach

Quality, Practice and Engagement Manager

she/her

I'm married and have a Rhodesian Ridgeback that occasionally accompanies me to work. Immigrating to Aotearoa from Germany in 2016, I've developed a deep appreciation for Aotearoa's beautiful culture and people. I feel fortunate to live in this stunning country and to have the chance to learn and gain confidence in working with Māori as part of Key Assets' bicultural journey. Working in such a crucial sector, I consider it a privilege to make a positive impact on the life journey of our precious mokopuna and their whānau.

Ayesha Singh

Business Support Manager

she/her

I originally moved to Aotearoa from Fiji when I was 9. I am the Business Support Manager for Key Assets, and I absolutely love my role because it is so varied. I am a detail-driven accounting professional, and this work uses my critical thinking and analytical skills. I am passionate about implementing efficient accounting systems and streamlining financial processes. With a calculator in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other, let’s face it - caffeine is the real fuel behind a balance sheet! Outside of work I enjoy reading, landscape painting, hiking, and spending time with my family and friends.

Diana Hamilton

Opportunities, Operations & Practice Manager

she/her

I joined Key Assets as the Kaiwhakahaere/Team Manager for the Ōtautahi region at the end of 2020. After many years in the child protection sector having the chance to be part of a team providing support to a wonderful group of dedicated and skilled carers was a privilege. Forming relationships with mokopuna and seeing them flourish is the most rewarding work I have done. That increased my motivation to see Key Assets apply our experience more broadly. I now have an Operational and Business Development role for Key Assets with the aim of extending our experience and reach to deliver specialised services to meet the varied needs of tamariki and whānau.

Education

Our education team works alongside foster carers and education providers across the country to ensure that all mokopuna receive the educational opportunities they are entitled to.

Therapeutic support

Our therapeutic support team guides our social workers in the development of their therapeutic practice; and ensures foster carers, whānau, and professionals are working together to achieve best outcomes for mokopuna.

Quality

Our quality team holds responsibility for quality assurance and continuous service improvement at Key Assets – including the implementation of the National Care Standards.

Whānau support service

Our whānau support service team helps parents, family members, carers, and other people involved in a child’s life make important changes so the foster child can come home, stay at home, or find a forever home.
