Key Assets offers a range of placements types for children and young people of all ages. All placements are matched to ensure a fit between the needs of children and young people and the skills and experience of foster carers to meet those needs.

Some of our foster carers have extensive experience and all have training in specialised areas of care, for example, those who have been sexually abused, or display challenging behaviour, and children who have disabilities.

On receiving a referral or request to place a child or young person, our social work team will identify any possible matches based on the young persons needs and carer vacancies. The team will ensure that you are kept up to date on progress. 

We aim to provide you with placement options within 24 hours of your request.

You can be sure that:

• All foster carers are properly approved, trained and supervised
• All placements of children's and young people are made using Placement Agreements which are prepared either before or at the time of making the placement.
• Whenever possible, pre-placement planning meetings and introductions are made between the child or young person and the foster carer
• You will receive regular updates on the child or young persons progress based on our recording system, 20 Key Development Assets.
