Fostering involves caring for a child in your home when they’re unable to live with their own family – finding out more about what fostering involves can help you decide whether it’s right for you.
There are lots of reasons why children and young people need foster care. Many of them will have experienced neglect or abuse and all have faced separation from their birth families. Fostering is a way of providing these children with a safe, secure home for as long as they need it – this could be for a few days, weeks, months or even years.
